One rambunctious boisterous teenager is pandemonium. A classroom full of them is a swing choir.While most teachers keep a lid on their classes, swing choir directors hide the lid.
This is how Willie Moore, director of the Rufus King High School swing choir, changed 20 free wheeling, spirited singers into a choir for the group's first program.
They Want Swing Choir
At 8:45, Moore is out in front of the curtain welcoming the students who have entered the auditorium.
The first number the audience liked. The second one "Games People Play" they eat up. Students whistle, shout and clap to the music. Charles Browne, a vocal soloist who also plays sax with the band, swings into his part."Sing, Charles," a student yells.
"Don't Look Down"
"Spread Out"
"Now with instruments"
They Want Swing Choir
The routine ends with loud applause and shrill whistles. "That was good. That was good," shouts a girl.
"Mr. Moore, don't say that's all," a student shouts, and is backed by applause. "Mr.Moore, put some more on it.
"Back in the practice room,choir members slap hands, joyous at a job well done. "The altos didn't mess up once," Grace brags. Prather beams, "I wasn't even nervous."

A Milwaukee native, former public high school music teacher, and high school basketball coach, Will Edd is a multi-talented artist. He is a songwriter, arranger, musician, and vocalist, who has toured Europe extensively twice performing gospel, classical, pop, and R&B music.
Will Edd’s gospel music is a blend of pop, jazz, blues, and R&B will have you singing along with his inspirational Contemporary Christian music. Will Edd's music is written to strengthen one’s faith in the one true Almighty God.

I make gospel music to encourage those who do and do not know the Lord & His Word. It's intended
to support Christian beliefs according to the Holy Bible. Influenced and rooted in Scripture--MY discipleship for the Lord.
